Here's what you need to know

  1. It is Head Start Awareness month! This is an excellent time to share the benefits of Head Start. Check out OHS digital media toolkit to help you connect with eligible families as well as early care, education, and family service providers of all kinds

  2. ICYMI: Setting the Record Straight on OHS Procedures and Timelines aired September 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. ET. NHSA hosted this discussion with Heather Wanderski, Program Operations Division Director, and Stephanie Gordon, Director of School Readiness Grants, who oversee all Head Start/Early Head Start program and fiscal operations to provide the most accurate and updated information about program and fiscal policies, procedures, and timelines.

  3. Congress passed a continuing resolution (a.k.a. flat funding for a short period of time) to prevent a government shutdown and provides funding through December 16. Click here to read NHSA statement.

Please visit our COVID-19 Resource page, which is updated regularly, and the FHSA events list for more information. If there is something else you need guidance on, let us know - we will continue to work with state agencies and partners to answer your questions.

Sincerely,

Wanda Minick
