Call for Nominations: Join the FHSA Board of Directors for 2025–2027

The Florida Head Start Association (FHSA) is now accepting self-nominations for its 2025–2027 Board of Directors. This is your opportunity to step into a leadership role and help shape the future of Head Start in Florida. We invite passionate individuals with strong leadership and management experience to apply. Deadline to Apply: Friday, August 22, 2025 

Available Seats and Terms of Service:

FHSA is seeking to fill four (4) board seats, each with a two-year term from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2027:

Director Seats (2): Applicants must be qualified Directors from Head Start/Early Head Start programs in the respective regions.

Southeast Region — Indian River, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, Broward

Suncoast Region — Charlotte, Collier, Desoto, Glades, Hendry, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota

Director-At-Large Seats (3):
Open to members in a Staff or Parent role with a Head Start/Early Head Start program, or members under the Individual/Corporate friends of FHSA

Note: Only one representative per Grantee, Program, or Agency may serve on the Board at a time.

Ideal candidates will embody:

• A deep, mission-driven commitment to FHSA beyond personal interest or affiliation
• Strategic thinking, collaborative spirit, and respect for diverse perspectives
• Reliability, creativity, integrity, and inclusive leadership skills
• A current FHSA membership with dues paid in full prior to each year’s installation

• Return the completed Board Commitment Form
• Staff or Parent nominees must also include a support letter from their program agency
