1. Yesterday, the Division of Early Learning, formerly the Office of Early Learning, called a meeting to announce the departure of Shan Goff, who previously served as the Executive Director.  Mrs. Goffs' predecessor is Matthew H. Mears, who most recently served as the  General Counsel for the Florida Department of Education will oversee the Division of Early Learning. The Florida Head Start Association is looking forward to working with Mr. Mears and his entire team and educating them on how Florida Head Start programs have partnered with parents living in poverty to prepare their children for success in school and in life and support family self-sufficiency.

  2. DYK? August is National Immunization Awareness Month! Check out this resource to help you answer parents’ common questions about infant vaccines

  3. The Children's Equity Project just released a report calling on any federal expansion of pre-K to be built on Head Start! Expanding #HeadStart is the smart way forward.

Please visit our COVID-19 Resource page, which is updated regularly, and the FHSA events list for more information. If there is something else you need guidance on, let us know - we will continue to work with state agencies and partners to answer your questions.

Sincerely,
