  1. ICYMI: The Office of Head Start (OHS) Workforce Wednesday Webinar: New Federal Opportunities to Bolster the Early Childhood Workforce aired Wednesday, March 01, 2023, @ 1:00 p.m. ET.  You can view the slide deck here.

  2. Dear Colleague on New Federal Opportunities to Bolster the Early Care and Education Workforce, March 1, 2023, from ACF, as referenced in yesterday's Workforce Wednesday Webinar.

  3. The 2023 Florida Legislative Session will officially convene on Tuesday, March 7. On January 18, the House Pre-K-12 Appropriations Subcommittee met to discuss early care and education in Florida. As you will learn after watching this meeting, we have a lot of work to do to educate what the difference is between Head Start and School Readiness. When Rep. Davis asked, "how does Head Start correlate with this work, " the panel responded, "Head Start is a federal program, and the major difference is they do not have the same worker school requirement as School Readiness."

Please visit our WYNTK resource webpage, which is updated regularly, and the FHSA events list for more information. If there is something else you need guidance on, let us know - we will continue to work with state agencies and partners to answer your questions.

Sincerely,

Wanda Minick
