  1. ICYMI: Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Eligibility Duration for Children Younger than 3, Acting Director of the Office of Head Start Tala Hooban sent communications regarding the duration policy of eligibility for all infants and toddlers served in Early Head Start, including those enrolled in Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) programs. 

  2. Fisher-Price Reannounces Recall of 4.7 Million Rock ‘n Play Sleepers; At Least Eight Deaths Occurred. On January 09, 2023, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reissued a recall on all models of Rock ‘n Play Sleepers. Consumers should stop using the Rock ‘n Play immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a refund or voucher.  It is illegal to sell or distribute the recalled sleepers. Please make sure your families are aware of this recall. 

  3. Eligibility: Determining Need and Meeting Expectations, Head Start programs serve children and families with the greatest need. The Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) contain two exceptions that enable programs to serve families above the poverty level (45 CFR §1302.12). ECLKC, updated January 11, 2023
