Here's what you need to know

  1. Recognizing individuals who do the work is paramount to ensure employee retention. That's why FHSA has made it a priority for our members to have options to show their appreciation. Consider submitting a #ThankfulThursday so we can spotlight a team player of the week and submit nominations for the FHSA annual awards

  2. Fiscal Year 2024 (FY 2024) Head Start Funding Increase. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and ACF released program information on fiscal year 2024 funding. Each eligible recipient will receive a COLA increase of 2.35% of the FY 2023 base funding level. Recipients must use COLA funds to permanently increase their Head Start pay scale, including current staff salaries and unfilled vacancies.

  3.  As National Playground Safety Week wraps up, remember this is the most common area where injuries in early childhood education programs occur. Check out these resources to ensure your outdoor space meets the highest safety standards.  ECLKC, updated February 22, 2024

Please visit our WYNTK resource webpage for archived WYNTK and the FHSA events calendar for more information. If there is anything else you need guidance on, let us know—we are happy to connect with you and learn how FHSA can better serve you
