Every day Head Start leaders, managers, staff, and parent leaders work to ensure that families feel welcome in their programs. Join this four-part webinar series about fostering the most accepting and inclusive Head Start and Early Head Start environments for LGBTQIA2S+ parents, families, and colleagues. LGBTQIA2S+ is an acronym for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, asexual, two-spirit, or additional sexual orientations and gender identities that are not heterosexual or cisgender. This series focuses on key terms, biases, and facts; program planning for Head Start staff; building trusting and respectful relationships; and celebrating the lived experiences of LGBTQI2AS+ parents, families, and staff.

In this first webinar, we’re establishing a common understanding of language and building a shared commitment to supporting and welcoming LGBTQIA2S+ parents, families, and staff. Facilitators provide opportunities for knowledge-building, discussion, and self-reflection. The last 30 minutes is an optional Q&A session with the facilitators.

This webinar is offered with simultaneous interpretation in Spanish.
