The most effective strategies for preventing challenging behaviors are primarily focused promoting positive relationships and teaching social and emotional skills. But despite our best efforts, sometimes challenging behavior still occurs. Challenging behavior can be defined as any repeated pattern of behavior that interferes with learning or engagement in pro-social interactions with peers and adults and are not responsive to developmentally appropriate guidance procedures.
