Children's Mental Health is a public health issue that everyone is concerned about today. FAIMH is Florida's only statewide professional community dedicated to supporting & strengthening YOU--Florida's professionals who work with (or on behalf of) infants and children under 5.

You will hear the facts about infant mental health and how it relates to your work fostering the healthy social-emotional development of the youngest children in your care. You will hear what we know adults who are caring for our youngest children need, and how we all know that someone has the skill and competence to support children's mental health in their work.

We'll tell you all about the new Florida Infant Mental Health Endorsement®, an internationally recognized credential that shows you use culturally sensitive, relationship-based practices that promotes early mental health in your work. Hear from a Mental Health Manager at an Early Head Start program in Florida who has earned the Florida Infant Mental Health Endorsement® and about the positive impact that infant mental health training, and Endorsement® can have on you, too! FAIMH will share more about how Early Head Start providers can earn Endorsement® at no cost to you, thanks to our grant funding from the Florida Dept. of Education's Division of Early Learning (DEL)!

Presenters:

  • Dr. Christine Hughes, FAIMH Executive Director
  • Cindy Horwitz Brown, Florida Infant Mental Health Endorsement® Coordinator
  • Cecilia Nariznis, Early Head Start Mental Health Manager, Early Learning Coalition, Miami
