Children experience and cope with traumatic circumstances differently depending upon their age and developmental stage, as well as upon who is available to them for support. A traumatic response might appear in the way children behave in their relationships, or as they transition from one activity to another. Providers who work with children can learn to recognize and be sensitive to the various ways that children respond to trauma. These might include behavioral challenges, or sadness and withdrawal.

In this webinar, we will explore ways to understand how children might process a traumatic experience through their behavior. We will also consider ways to support children’s optimal development through partnerships with their families and caregivers in relationships that can heal.
