Guidelines for Presentation Submissions

General Information and Format

This year's conference will be delivered over a virtual professional platform. The virtual conference will be similar to the in-person conference. Presentations are assembled in sessions according to a theme, and they are assigned a virtual room. All registered attendees can attend any session and switch from session to session at will. Participants access the session of their choice by entering a virtual room via a hyperlink. As with in-person conferences, there will also be a dedicated period for questions and discussion during or after the presentations. Participants will be able to use a Q&A box (similar to a chat) to ask questions during the presentations.  Feel free to provide your own session moderator for assistance, or FHSA will be happy to provide one for you.

Workshop sessions should include extensive interaction between presenters and participants around an idea or hands-on experience of practice and aligned with the session's theme. These sessions may also take the form of a crafted panel, staged conversation, dialogue, or debate – all involving as much interaction with the audience as possible utilizing a virtual platform.

Interactive sessions are a time when skills or concepts are taught, demonstrated, or explored. These sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes and should be structured to provide explanatory or introductory information, with ample time for audience interaction, participation, and involvement.
Presenters may provide handouts that can be uploaded before the conference that summarizes or expands upon the workshop content and advances the knowledge and skills of those involved in the education of children ages zero to five.

How do I submit a presentation proposal?

Complete the Presentation Proposal Form thoroughly.  When considering your submission, please consult the conference themes to categorize your session appropriately. You can access the Presentation Proposal Form Here. The deadline to submit presentations is January 08, 2020.

Do I need to post my presentation and/or handouts before the conference?

Yes. Presenters must post presentations and handouts before the conference. A link will be provided to you in advance once the presentation has been accepted. Participants will be able to access them freely.
