Changing the Narrative with Comedian DJ Pryor will enlighten attendees on how this young man growing up with a teenage mother overcame challenges and difficulties. His fascinating story of life, love, and his pursuit of happiness is a true testament to his ability to overcome and he is a genuine reflection of resilience.

When the video of DJ and his adorable son having a conversation on their couch went viral, he became an educator’s delight and every father’s example of how to engage with a young child. Despite his childhood, DJ strives to be a positive influence on his family and community at-large. He shares his story of resilience, character-building, and personal growth through comedy… emphasizing the point that joy can be found in any experience.


Bio:

Beginning his stage career at the early age of 15, DJ Pryor has been bringing laughter to audiences around the country for over two decades. Heavily influenced by Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, and Chris Tucker, DJ’s warm yet uproarious comedy is unique to our generation. The oldest of six, DJ was raised in a military family in the small southern town of Clarksville, Tennessee. A challenging upbringing has motivated him as an entertainer and as a loving parent.

In June of 2019 and on a lark, DJ and his 18-month-old son, Kingston posted a short video, displaying the fun and love between a father and son. The post instantly went viral and set the internet on fire. The video generated over 100 million views on multiple platforms and is, to this date, the 2nd most favorited Tweet of all time, with reposts by celebrities such as Will Smith, Chris Evans, and Mark Hamill among others. As a viral sensation, DJ has been featured on USA Today, Good Morning America, Access Hollywood, The Today Show, Carson Daily, People, Time, Newsweek, Buzzfeed, USA Today Chris Cuomo Prime Time, and many more. The joy of DJ’s father/son story has gone international with media notices around the world.
