The Office of Child Care’s (OCC) National Center on Subsidy Innovation and Accountability (NCSIA) will be hosting a webinar to share tips and tools available to manage Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) program and Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funds. The CARES Act appropriated an additional $3.5 billion in supplemental CCDF discretionary funds.

This event will be the fourth and final webinar in the Fiscal Year 2020 National Program Integrity Webinar Series. These webinars highlight Lead Agency strategies that support the use of internal controls, fraud prevention efforts, and fiscal accountability in their child care programs.

Given the current uncertain times in the country, it is especially important for Lead Agencies to consider how to best manage available CCDF program and CARES Act dollars. This webinar will cover the ways that CCDF program and CARES Act funds can be used concurrently to serve families; considerations for when there are competing budget priorities; tips on ways to maximize all available funding to best serve families and to support child care providers; and a walk-through to share a budget calculator tool that states and territories can use, with the support of individualized technical assistance, to understand how various factors impact their budgets. Representatives from Michigan’s Lead Agency will present their experience in using the budget calculator.

Who Should Participate?

CCDF administrators, program integrity staff members, fiscal managers, and policy and budget analysts are all encouraged to participate in the webinar and to engage in the discussion.

This webinar will use Adobe Connect. Adobe Connect allows us to encourage and facilitate more dialogue via the written chat pods, although the option to converse via the audio lines will still be available. If you have questions, please contact the NCSIA team at [email protected]. To learn about our resources, please visit the NCSIA webpage.
