This event is by invitation only.

FHSA and the Office of Head Start Regional Office will host a webinar to discuss Florida's Sunshine State Early Childhood Portal Project.

The Region IV Office of Head Start and the Florida Head Start Association cordially invite you to participate in an upcoming webinar on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. for all grantees regarding Florida's Sunshine State Information Portal. Led by Dr. Herman Knopf at the Anita Zucker Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies at the University of Florida, this project is supported by the Preschool Development Grant Birth to Five (PDG B-5) block grant awarded to the Florida Office of Early Learning in 2018.

The Sunshine Portal seeks to understand and enhance the landscape of early childhood care and education mixed delivery systems in Florida. Head Start, Early Head Start, and Migrant and Seasonal Head Start/Early Head Start programs play a critical role in the state's early childhood care and education system by serving over 40,000 children and families each year. As a result, collaboration with Head Start and Early Head Start grantees will be critical as this project seeks to incorporate data from all Head Start and Early Head Start grantees to more fully identify disparities, gaps, overlap, and successful utilization of services and programs for children and families throughout Florida.

We urge you to join us for this webinar where we plan to:

  • Discuss The Sunshine Portal Project more in-depth;
  • Explore why grantee participation is vital to the initiative;
  • Explain the tangible benefits to grantees and the communities served;
  • Address privacy and data sharing concerns.
