Join us to explore the research around effective teaching practices that support children who are dual language learners (DLLs). Children who are DLLs are learning in two or more languages, either simultaneously or sequentially. Discover planning support strategies for early language and literacy development for all children, including DLLs. We will discuss specific strategies for supporting linguistically diverse children in problem-solving, experimentation, brainstorming, planning, and related vocabulary learning.

Topics for the webinar include:

  • Exploring the process of planning instructional interactions in English or the children's home languages
  • Reviewing research on effective teaching practices for children who are DLLs
  • Strategies for supporting children who are DLLs to promote inquiry and higher-order thinking skills
