Supporting and growing a diverse early childhood (EC) workforce helps EC professionals better serve the children and families in their communities. At the state and territory levels, a training and technical assistance (T&TA) team well versed in the issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion can better support EC professionals. Working together at the state/territory and program levels provide EC professionals and T&TA providers with the necessary knowledge and skills to fully implement both Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) and Head Start regulations.

In this webinar, you will learn how the structure of a virtual community of practice (CoP) helped participants discover key components needed to support black, Latina, and other EC professionals of color. Hear about lessons learned from the Supporting a Diverse Early Childhood Education CoP and the ways that the states involved plan to enhance their ability to support their EC workforce to meet their professional development (PD) goals. The National Center on Early Childhood Quality Assurance and National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning (NCECDTL) will co-present during this webinar.
